Predominantly White Media by Marcia Powell

The predominantly white media reported that Glenn Beck’s “Restoring Honor” at the Lincoln Memorial on August 28, 2010, was attended by predominantly white people.

This event took place on the 47th anniversary of Martin Luther King’s “I Have a Dream” speech at the same location.   I was only 12 years old then, and I don’t think that the predominantly white media reported that it was attended by predominantly black people. I might be wrong, I will do some research on that.

I am African American, and as I was watched this event on Saturday, I was disappointed that more blacks were not in attendance.  But then I realized that these white politically charged “predominantly” white media have demonized black people in America.  They have continued to lie to blacks, to keep them ignorant, uninformed, and in the dark.  They have done this for their own selfish agenda.

It is time for blacks to rise up, become informed.  These same predominantly white media have influenced black leaders to spread hate towards informed blacks and whites.

During the Obama presidential campaign, the first time race was brought into the equation, was by the predominantly white media – who demonized Americans – whenever questions came up about Obama’s shady past.

Praise be to God.  We serve a God who is color blind – He sees people.  Martin Luther, in his “I Have a Dream” speech said, “We should not judge a person by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.”

It is time for black leaders, who know the truth, to stand up, and look beyond the color of skin and judge by the content of character.  I was pleased to see Martin Luther King’s niece, a true woman of God, who knows the truth, at Glenn Beck’s rally.  I pray that other blacks will stand for truth.

This predominantly white media has done enough damage to divide America, and it is time people of all color, become informed.  Do not let this predominantly white media, be your only source of information – read and educate yourselves – listen to all views, and then judge by the content of their character.
