I have one word for you. And that word is Laminin. How many have heard the word “Laminin”? When I first heard about Laminin I was stunned. It was one of those jaw dropping moments.
How many know you are fearfully and wonderfully made? The God of the Heavens is the one who fashioned us together. He knows every single thing there is to know about us. He’s made us a promise that for those who trust in him he will literally hold us in His hand and carry us all the days of our life.
Our world is filled with hurting people. With people who are being deceived. With lives that are spinning out of control and God is making us a promise that he is big enough to be intimately acquainted with each and every person. He literally will hold you together through every circumstance. That sounds good but how do I know that that is true other than the Bible says so? That God will hold you together no matter what.
Let me prove it with Laminin. It’s a little protein molecule. A little protein molecule that makes, a cell adhesion molecule. Cells organize into certain molecular structures and that determines what protein they are. There are protein 10 and 60,000 proteins in the human body. We don’t even know who many there are but one of them is a cell adhesion molecule and that tells the cell what its job is in the human body.
It’s organized into a structure that tells the cell its purpose in the body. It’s a cell adhesion molecule. It holds your membranes together. It’s the glue of the human body. And I want to show you a diagram of that actual molecule. This is when my jaw dropped. And then I saw an Electro microscopic image of the actual molecule. How crazy is that? That the stuff that holds our bodies together is in the perfect shape of the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ.
So then that takes us to Paul in Colossians 1 talking about the supremacy of Christ. And here’s what he says:
Colossians 1:15-19 (New International Version) 16For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him. 17He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. 18And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy.19For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, He goes on to say that all things dwell in him.
And oh by the way the official scientific symbol for Laminin is LAMB2.
I have a passion for letting the world know that the very fiber of their being is being held together by a molecule that is in the shape of the Cross of Christ. It’s our responsibility to share that word with everyone.
